The challenge
The Cedar Suite is a leading event venue, with an interior by designer Martin Hulbert and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the room with daylight. The climate system had to meet demanding targets for appearance, comfort and energy efficiency across very different events.
The solution
Three vertically mounted 25 kW air handlers provide heating and cooling. Two feed discreet 25 mm linear grilles and slot outlets around the inner coffered ceiling; the third supplies 66 mm round outlets around the edge of the room, directed down the full-height glass. Tempered fresh air is delivered through the same outlets.
The result
Temperatures stay even and draught-free with no hot or cold spots. Maintenance demands are low and are carried out from the plant room, away from the event space. The hotel’s facilities team describe the system as visually discreet and very quiet.
“Invisible.AC system is a designer’s dream; visually discreet, very quiet and unnoticeable – the perfect complement to Martin Hulbert’s vision.”
