The challenge
The hotel’s owners had already used the system at The Grove in Hertfordshire and wanted the same fully customised approach here. The new suites, designed by London studio StudioJill, called for understated luxury, so the services had to be as discreet as possible while delivering precise comfort and good environmental performance.
The solution
Compact hotel fan coils are installed above each en-suite bathroom and linked by small-bore flexible ducting to slim 25 mm linear outlets. These are joined to run the full width of the room, so they read as a fine architectural line. The system is paired with a ground source heat pump to provide heating, cooling and ventilation from one installation.
The result
Each room has even temperatures with no draughts or layering of warm and cool air. Low fan speeds, noise-cancelling ducts and low-turbulence outlets keep sound levels extremely low, reported as below NR20, which supports a good night’s sleep.
“It was a pleasure to work with Invisible.AC on the Fowey Hall Hotel project. We found Norman Bale (Chairman, Invisible.AC) to be incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and keen to support us in our vision to execute a heating and ventilation solution which was as discreet as possible, creating minimal visual intrusion into the interior spaces.”
